Athletics days

On Tuesday we had athletics and I loved it because I tried my best in all activities because I wanted to have fun. My favourite part about athletics was the sprints because I come 2nd for the first time. The easy part was to shot put because, you just have to push the shot put ball as far as you can. The hard part was high jump because I failed on the 2nd jump. My next step is to try my hardest in all activities.

Explain what happened

On Friday last week my class was testing there boats and some sunk if they put coins on there boat. Some boats can hold heaps of coins and some can only hold a certain amount of coins. The easy part was to design my boat on a paper. The hard part was to build my boat in the amount off time given. My next step is to make my boat in the amount of time given.

Paying it Forward

If I travelled back into time I would take back, some fashionable clothes, because there clothes back then will be very different. Also some snacks so they can have a munch if they're hungry, and i'll take some food if they have no food in there cupboards or pan tree i'll give them some food. I'll also take some new board games for the children to play with, and if they dont know how to play i'll teach them.

Fractions

Yesterday we were learning about fractions. The easy part was to problem solve the question with as much strategies as possible, not any strategies high level strategies. The hard part was nothing because I found these kind of fractions easy.
For example:
5/12 of 24 = 10
24 ÷ 12 = 2
2 x 5 = 10

Taumarere History

On June 23 1921 a group of local people met in Pakaru School set up a new building as a memorial to the men of the district who fell in the World War 1, and for the community. The original Management Committee comprised JJ Ware, H Doel, HL Irving, J Doel jnr, CS Goodhue, E Doel, and G Simpson and land was donated by Bert Goodhue.

Kapa Haka

What enjoyed the about being a Kai Haka when I performed was that I had the privilege to be on the stage and perform. I felt whakama at first but I got use to it and just wanted to focus so we don't loose marks. My favourite item waka the Whakaeke and haka in our Whakawatea. I think I need to improve on always singing and trying to reach high notes.

Taumarere Trip

On the second week of school we went for a ride on the train to Taumarere and learnt about Taumarere back in the olden day. Then we went for a walk on the longest standing bridge in New Zealand in Taumarere then carried on, on the tracks. When we were walking we had a scavenger hunt to complete, we had to find native birds, non native birds, native trees and stuff like that. When we find them we show a teacher or a parent and they will give us a yellow sticker.
